Feast brings respite from odd routines
On an important occasion, I had the great opportunity to attend a feast arranged at a posh hotel in our famous city of Kanpur's prominent Jajmau area.
Various delicious items were arranged on the stylish table. The guests were really free to choose what they liked to consume. There was a considerable rush but not in any way uncontrollable when I entered the grand air conditioning space. Soon, the humble host emerged, and we liked to step forward for embracing each other as human decency permits us to do on such occasions.
I did not lose much time sharing a light joke. I briefed him that I saw you standing from just outside, but you were out of sight the moment I entered the a bit dark hall.
He, in his usual manner, did not pause to say how a man so fat could not be viewed from quite a short distance. Thus, we laughed to the full heartily.
Among various dishes, there was also the regular Biryani. How would be missed due to its wide acceptability? When it was indeed available to the guests, they certainly had to savour it experiencing its special tastes.
There are indeed a few other familiarly favourite dishes, but this one deserves the choice for everyone. Without this particular dish, the feast does not appear complete and up to the standard altogether.
However, it was so pungent and spicy that it was quite difficult to bear its tangy quality. The guests were indeed savouring it with all the traditional taste.
What brought a bit more heat was surely its unbearable sharpness at the very moment. Though two others on the table showed no signs of such reaction and consumed all in the palate. The boys sitting there also found no problem in devouring the Biryani.
A boy sitting on a chair in front of me did not bother finishing the hot Biryani that was not so pungent, as he laughingly agreed as well as accepted instantly when he was asked to react to the taste of the famous dish.
I started with a kebab that was too tasty with all its essence. Understanding that it was an individual excess, I did justice with the ice cream. I had to ably savour the ice cream to get rid of Biryani's unbearable sharpness. Its intake relieved me to a satisfactory extent.
Though the gathering of people enjoyed the moments sitting on different tables. They were not bothering to finish the ingredients in their palate. Nothing was discarded as they laughingly accepted instantly when they were gently asked to react. How could they go against these particularly popular dishes of our present-day cuisine.
Feasts serve as the rites of intensification that revitalise shared values. These are no doubt essential for fostering our communal cohesion, transmitting cultural customs, and commemorating important festival. These in no doubt provide a planned, joyous respite from everyday routines while fostering happiness, thankfulness, and inkly social cohesiveness.
