Gaza peace plan hangs in balance

The present yellow line has emerged as the most effective factor in the peace plan with Gaza and Israel. What type of peace plan is it when there has been variance among all the parties? They appeared to be thinking very differently. This is evident by the trend. 

Trump has his own plan to stress, but Israel negated approval of the deal unless every one of its states is wholly secured. 

No exit whatsoever of the Israeli military from the present yellow line will be initiated unless Hamas undergoes demilitarisation with frankness.

In the meantime, Israel's media reported that the pact did not meet the country's demands, with ministers and opposition politicians distancing themselves from the plan.

Israel's far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir was fiercely critical of the peace plan. Opposition politician Gadi Eisenkot voiced that any agreement that did not destroy Hamas’s military and political power would be a complete blow. 

Nearly three weeks of discussions and cautious work by arbitrators seem to fetch no certainty about a current accord. 

Now, the whole focus shifts to a coming Cairo meeting to bring together representatives of Hamas, allied Palestinian factions and mediators from Egypt, Qatar, the US and Turkey to formally back the deal, as was first reported.

Though Donald Trump described the deal as a huge step, there was positivity in the Middle East as Saudi Arabia hailed it as a major milestone. 

Hamas said it duly agreed to demilitarise as long as Israel exits from Gaza. An Israeli side said that "there will be no withdrawal whatsoever of the Israeli military from the current yellow line.
