Entering into softer seasonal shift
On Tuesday night, we received a tremendous surprise. We are firmly in the midst of a softer, more relaxed period of seasonal shift. The unexpected rain reduced the intense humidity, and the hapless residents were really concerned about the prolonged electricity outage.
It was only restored at nearly 9:40 p.m. last night. The incessant cool breeze kept the people pleased until the electricity was ably restored. An atmospheric hair-raiser seeped into humid conditions has made our acute problem obviously bothersome until the rains stopped. The trouble-inducing worries subsided only after several hours.
Kanpur's Jajmau experienced rain on the last day of September. It ensued on a humid afternoon, and the residents felt a kind of relief. The sudden arrival of rain, for a certain unspecified time, was unexpected, though surely everyone must have welcomed it. Definitely, there’s something about Jajmau that makes its residents enjoy themselves nicely.
It was not devoid of thunder and flashes of lightning. It certainly gave a sense of dread among all those residents, realising the big bang of the thunderstorm. It was nature's surprise simply.
Did we not start talking about the fresh dose of rain? “Oh,” residents hushed, suddenly aware of the Delhi earthquake, “maybe we should just talk about it afterwards.” Surprising!
There remained darkness for long hours. The inverters stopped working. The weather certainly changed in the first two hours of the afternoon. The air was soothing to the body.
Does it not hint at comingcoming of rather the new season? Is it possible to stay inside the house when your lives have faced such different experiences? “Of course,” Someone doubted. “We don’t talk about natural rains. We just talked about money stuff in Jajmau.”
