Why Afghan flag mired in controversy?
Afghanistan FM conducted his Press meet with his country's white flag. A video to this effect was shared on social media. Between 1901 and 2021, Afghanistan's flag underwent eighteen changes. There was a flag dilemma with Afghanistan's national flag. However, it was resolved somehow. The flag was seen behind the Afghan foreign minister during his talk with the Indian media.
Since India does not give official status to the Afghan flag, it has not allowed the Afghan minister to fly its flag -- a plain white cloth with the black words of the shahada, the Islamic declaration of faith though it was displayed, reportedly.
A video to this effect was posted on social media to dispel various rumours that had been going around to the contrary. Both the countries deliberately consider their choices for creating suitable spaces that are a bit more restorative and calming, far beyond triggering a stress response.
A safe and considered conclusion would be more than just an example to reach its vital solution. Both countries can only engage their higher psychological endeavours, such as table talks or counselling, or even going back to resolve at a safer place.
Why is the current Afghan flag mired in extreme controversy? We know that it remained a matter solely between the two countries. They wouldn't complain about too much of a good thing, especially when they are all so tastefully interested, displaying the least amount of lethargy without a dash of glitz.
But when so many flag contradictions are emerging, it can be difficult to pick wholly a favourite; in fact, it was really not so hard to narrow down the shortlist. Besides being drawn appropriately, arriving at an agreement, both countries come face to face with a big part of what makes this matter so special instantly.
It was also put since India doesn't recognise the Taliban's rule in Afghanistan, it does not give official status to the Taliban flag. So far, New Delhi has not allowed the Taliban to fly its flag at the Afghan Embassy in New Delhi.
As the South Block prepares for the bilateral engagements, officials have a flag dilemma. The protocol dictates that the Indian flag should be placed alongside the flag of the country of the visiting leader-- behind them and/or on the table-- for photo ops.
Typically, though, none appears to lean a little more subdued, favouring the use of a white flag, or not flying elegantly in its usual way. The embassy still flies he old flag of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, which was official at the time of now-ousted President Ashraf Ghani.
