Annual Eid celebrations

Clearly, the main activity of the annual Eid celebration remains attending a relative's residence. On this particular occasion, relatives make sure to see each other at home.  They are amused by a wide variety of dishes. The sweet flavour of the most significant meal, sewai , seems to be blending with joy and celebration. Even so, traditional recipes are significantly altered for the celebration.  During a visit to a relative's home, it became more apparent that not only did the dishes on the table resemble those of a five-star hotel, but also...  The golden-coloured cutlery placed on the table created the illusion of an upscale hotel. Each item placed on the table served as a reminder of the refined and opulent way of life.

Why India Still Struggles With Mental Health Awareness in 2025

Serendipity is having a significant impact on young mental health in 2025, as seen by an increase in the prevalence of deeper anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues. This detrimental trend is caused by a wide range of factors.

Stretched ambiguity, academic pressure and social media, international competition and climate change, shifting parenting practices, and society attitudes are all fundamental factors.

New mental health diagnoses and symptoms in pre-existing states are on the rise owing to ongoing uncertainty. Trust is undermined by political and economic instability, which also feeds anxiety, alienation, and identity confusion.

Social media increases exposure to harmful content and pushes irrational comparisons, which exacerbate mental health issues. The intense pressure to perform well in school can lead to stress and anxiety.

There is fear and uncertainty about the future because of the current state of the world, which is characterised by conflicts, pandemics, and climate change. Opportunities for young people to develop resilience and autonomy may be restricted by overly protective parenting practices and societal attitudes that place a higher priority on safety than independence.

Since these increase stress and worry, there are undoubtedly several effects on youth mental health. Increased stress and worry brought on by uncertainty may show up as avoidance behaviours, restlessness, or trouble focusing.

It creates a poor self-image and a loss of control. Feelings of helplessness, self-doubt, and a negative self-perception can all be fostered by uncertainty, which increases the likelihood of mental health disorders like depression. In fact, mental health disorders among young people have increased significantly, accounting for 45% of the total disease burden among those between the ages of 10 and 24.

Coping mechanisms have also been proposed. Maintaining a network of confirming relationships with mentors, friends, or family can be tedious. Taking care of oneself is also advised. If we proceed to abide by enjoyable and soothing hobbies, physical activity, or mindfulness exercises, there is no doubt that improvement will occur.

Concentrate on the aspects of life that you can manage with your basic energy, like setting goals for yourself or learning new abilities. Most importantly, we need to get professional assistance. Consult a mental health specialist if uncertainty has a substantial negative influence on your mental health.

Tensions in 2025 are undoubtedly having an impact on youth mental health. If the causes of this trend are precisely identified and effective management strategies are implemented, young people can gain stability and overcome these challenging times. Youth mental health must be prioritised, and resources must be easily accessible, to create a generation that is healthier and more resilient.
