Pricey vegetables bring tough time

We agree that the most recent difficult time for the common people was brought on by more expensive vegetables, which made them reflect on what our beloved everyday precious life now entails. The surprising circumstance has become a difficult period to endure. Due to several circumstances, vegetable prices are currently high in several places, including Kanpur.  Various common vegetables are now less available and more expensive because of supply chain disruptions, particularly those caused by the rainy climate. Media do not fail to report that rising vegetable prices are practically putting pressure on household finances, particularly for those with lower incomes. Prices for vegetables vary based on terrain and local market conditions, even though they are often pricey. According to the Economic Survey 2024–25, unfavourable weather conditions, such as unexpected rainfall and prolonged heatwaves, have impacted crop output and created supply shortages, which have forced prices high ...

AC Bus Winter fares fail to pull passengers

Elegantly fresh ideas have been brought forward for running UP Roadways AC buses on the road. Despite propagating pursuits through varied ways, the Roadways Bus stations are also seen to be informed about the reduction in the fares on cold winter days.

The reduction in the fares of the AC buses at present does not attract more passengers sufficiently. It is not far from the fact on the ground. Who would require cold air inside the bus cabin? What they prefer to find is better conditions like cleanliness. Strangely enough, the AC bus is not cleaning spitting splattered over the inside walls. Dirt and waste are typically not cleared.

We are still well aware that buses don't leave the terminal until there are enough passengers on board. If less than a dozen passengers come, the buses depart in the hopes of gaining more passengers on the trip. Nevertheless, the buses continue to go in the hopes of success but are not practically successful.

General buses have lower rates of fares for the same distance, but if there are just a dozen, the AC buses must depart in the hopes of picking up more travellers.

However, the buses continue to move forward with optimistic hopes but are still unsuccessful practically. The passengers seem to favour ordinary buses only for cheaper fares.

Thus, it has been caught that the general buses draw relatively more passengers also because the AC buses are not far better. The cleanliness is not improving in AC buses. Passengers are more often found criticising the apathy towards this basic facility.

When One AC bus started from a bus station, it carried only a handful of passengers but boasted of reaching Khaga station comparatively faster in comparison to the general bus. Even the bus driver was overheard saying this accomplishment.

The passengers also emphasized that there remained no marked differences between the AC and the General buses. Cleanliness is absent in both buses. In the name of more fares, state transport buses do not show extra concern about jobs in the curtained buses.

As the buses are moving comparatively empty on various routes, some passengers only adjust themselves on the AC buses on their short or lengthy journeys.

Passengers are certainly being lured by the seasonal twist to board the AC buses.  Regularly choosing AC buses in the winter days does not look undesirable for there is a difference of at least fifty rupees in the fare for a similar distance.

At the end of winter days, the bus passengers will have to bear the higher fares. Only intensely loyal passengers might not leave their travel habit through the AC bus.
