He was reportedly joking with a senior US diplomat to go halves on the freshly revealed $400m Pacific Policing Initiative.

Australian policing scheme was approved by Pacific leaders hearing the 53rd Pacific Islands Forum. Did it pass on a similar Chinese deal with the Solomon Islands?

Among their endeavour's pivotal factors are multi-country police units, four training centres across the region and a Brisbane-based coordination hub. These four subjects were reportedly the main points.

Albanese was casually speaking to the US Deputy Secretary of State Kurt Campbell on the sidelines of the PIF when he completed the singular comments, offering a behind-the-scenes glance at the global diplomacy.

“Well, we had a hacker at present advancing the Pacific Policing Initiative through,” the Prime Minister said adding that it remains so noteworthy. It will cause such a distinction.

Campbell praised the PPI, praising the initiative as outstanding and exceptional.

He even stated that he talked with Kevin about it, referring to Australia’s ambassador to the US, Kevin Rudd.

So you know we were heading to accomplish something (but) he asked us not to, so we did not.

“We’ve given you the route. So take the lane.”

“You can go on halves on the cost if you like,” Mr Albanese quipped back with a laugh, evoking a quick laugh from the US official.

“People try and read something into it, you must be pretty bored, frankly.

Pacific leaders have praised the initiative as “Pacific-led”, saying that Pacific pains should be solved in-house in a thinly veiled attempt at Beijing, which has been trying to woo Pacific nations into allegedly a similar deal.

“He did not say that, he did not say that. He did not say that,” Mr Albanese said.

He further mentioned Kevin Rudd, Australia's ambassador to the US, saying, "I spoke with Kevin about it." You see, we were about to do something, but we decided against it when he nudged us not to.
