Blue water in Delhi

Despite all-round progress in the country we remain deprived of clean water to drink. No area appears to be safe from contaminated water. The famous line, Water, water but there is no clear water to drink available in Delhi's locality. This line fits well in telling the poor residents's woes. 

Their complaints against the supply of blue foamy water coming from houses in Delhi's Peeragarhi compelled the responsible authorities to move fast. The poor residents are in awe genuinely. 

This kind of phenomenon also persisted in Delhi's other areas like Kalindi Kunj. Okhla Bird Sanctuary and Mayur Vihar, as told. The authorities concerned appear to be quite alert in mitigating the residents' problems. 

We were so far unaware of this particular colour of water. It’s that time of the year when the children will have to avoid this kind of contaminated water. This is the beginning of a more significant case that has far-reaching consequences down the road. 

Delhi's water minister showing promptness initiated a meeting and discussed in detail for initiating tough steps. Delhi's Chief Secretary was instructed by the minister to convene an urgent conference with all the top officials from the relevant departments. Looks like not a simple method of wrapping, but instead doing concrete things for the affected residents of the area. 

Supply of muddy water used to be a big problem in the past days. The amazing blue colour water supply seems to be a result of some chemical mixing into it. it can be found out only after thorough analysis, that the solution requires to be sought through various solid methods. Supply of coloured is the tragedy of time. Residents are deprived of clean water despite paying water tax to the Jal Board. 

Though the Delhi state government talks of better schools and medical facilities, it falters somewhere in providing clean drinking water to the people at large. Bluewater supply happens to be a vital issue for the public at present. 

The blue foam is believed to be caused by:

1. Industrial effluents: Untreated or partially treated industrial waste from factories and units in the area, containing chemicals like detergents, surfactants, and dyes.

2. Sewage and wastewater: Overflowing sewage and wastewater from Delhi's drainage system, carry pollutants and contaminants into the water bodies.

3. Algal blooms: Excessive growth of algae in the water, fueled by nutrient-rich pollutants, leading to the formation of foam.

The blue foamy water poses health risks to humans, animals, and the environment. The root causes can be dealt with thoroughly through improved wastewater treatment and management, enhanced industrial effluent treatment and monitoring.
