Pricey vegetables bring tough time

We agree that the most recent difficult time for the common people was brought on by more expensive vegetables, which made them reflect on what our beloved everyday precious life now entails. The surprising circumstance has become a difficult period to endure. Due to several circumstances, vegetable prices are currently high in several places, including Kanpur.  Various common vegetables are now less available and more expensive because of supply chain disruptions, particularly those caused by the rainy climate. Media do not fail to report that rising vegetable prices are practically putting pressure on household finances, particularly for those with lower incomes. Prices for vegetables vary based on terrain and local market conditions, even though they are often pricey. According to the Economic Survey 2024–25, unfavourable weather conditions, such as unexpected rainfall and prolonged heatwaves, have impacted crop output and created supply shortages, which have forced prices high ...

Political rhetorics

Politics has started and rhetoric is being made over Muslims not getting a place in NDA Cabinet 3.0. Some politicians are perhaps less satisfied with this fact.

It is quite concerning for them that none among 17.22 Crore of the population was found to be worthy enough to get a berth in the three-tier NDA ministry.

Political experts say that this is the first time in Indian history that not a single Muslim MP was sworn in for the Union Council of Ministers.

There are these few points quite like being spotted not only as an enormous attention around the arena of having been on political gain.

In a special talk reportedly with the Union Minister Giriraj Singh on this exceptionally vital issue, he said that if any Muslim candidate does not win then how would a Muslim become a minister.

How will there be one when there is no one to represent us? If there were elected representatives then it would be certain.

He was known for throwing himself into the spotlight. At one point during the rancorous reactions, he signalled how his disfavour might ostracize him from ardent supporters by reacting differently.

The BJP had fielded only a single candidate who lost in the parliamentary polls. However, there is a way to choose one at least for six months, political pundits maintain.

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav has expressed his displeasure over not including any Muslim MP in the Union Cabinet.

He categorically said that everyone should be taken along, no matter their religion or caste. Everyone should be respected.

Further, KPCC chief K Sudhakaran criticised the lack of Muslim representation in the third government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and claimed that this was reportedly extremely undemocratic.

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor said that the experience of Muslims has not been good in recent years. This remains the first time in the country that there is not a single Muslim MP in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. There is not even a single Muslim minister in the cabinet.

But these glowing words appear good only in principle while there remains no straight value to these wordy expressions in real practice.

According to the Constitution of India, a person who is not a member of any House of Parliament can become a Prime Minister or Minister for 6 months.

Reportedly, there is no Muslim MP among all NDA partners at this fresh time. No Muslim candidate from NDA allies got elected to the 18th Lok Sabha. All in all, the total 25 or 24 Muslim MPs are either from the INDIA bloc or independents.

Historically, Muslims in India have not been represented in Parliament according to their population.

Muslim representation in Parliament has remained around 5℅, even though the number of Muslim candidates contesting the elections has been continuously decreasing.

There were 115 Muslim candidates in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, whereas in 2024 this number was reduced to 78.
